Helping customers tackle historic flood water

Historic rainfall

The team has been working hard throughout the wettest 18 months since records began in 1836. It is no secret that this winter has seen a significant amount of rain, which has left most of us hiding indoors. Meanwhile, our engineers have seen the damage that this extreme weather has had on businesses in the leisure industry first hand. England and Wales have recorded the highest rainfall since 1766 in the past 12 months, with 445.8 mm falling just within the winter season. Unfortunately, for our customer base at caravan and holiday parks across the UK, this has meant a significant rise in damaged electrical equipment requiring urgent repair.

Throughout the winter season, electricians at Hawkins have seen a significant rise in remedial work relating to flooding and water ingress, predominantly in fused distribution units

Customer focused

Hawkins’ technicians were able to complete the required installation and repair work to the flooded sites safely and promptly. The team shares in its customers’ delight at the prospect of warmer, drier weather but is always available to support customers in emergency situations such as these.
